Photo Compositions

Introduction

When I have some time to kill I like to create photo compositions of shots I've taken. I ususally group the images based on dominant colour, texture, or subject matter. I tend to spend about 2-4 hours selecting, cropping, colour-correcting and arranging the shots to be included in the composition. I then print them out (approx 7x11) on photo paper, frame them, and hang 'em up.

I'm currently working on a series of compositions featuring Saturna Island, British Columbia with its rich variety of landscapes contained in such a small area. The image on the right is of "Saturna Blue," a composition of images from Saturna Island with blue as the dominant colour. Three more Saturna Island compositions are being prepared: "Saturna Sculpted," "Saturna Gold," and "Saturna Green & Blue."

Other compositions, with a New Brunswick theme, will be created once I accumulate a greater quantity and variety of images, although I probably have enough of Saint's Rest beach to assemble a composition or two.
